Journey Home for Empowered Living and Dying
Changing how we experience death, dying and grief by creating beautiful deaths and meaningful memories at end-of-life.
A not-for-profit organization in the heart of Dundas, Ontario, offering free support and services to those dying and
their loved ones.
We believe death is a life event that should be celebrated with love, compassion, and beauty to reflect the life lived.
Medical professionals provide treatment for those with a terminal or palliative diagnosis, while funeral homes and crematoriums provide services once life has ended.
Journey Home offers guidance, support, and services to fill the gap between treatment and death.
Imagine a world where death is not about anticipating a last breath in a fluorescent hospital room with the people around you limited by clinical visiting rules. Imagine a death in a warm room with your favourite music and smells, with your pets and loved ones or maybe outside by a lake, hearing the birds sing under a hand-knit blanket, holding hands with your partner and the sun's warmth on your face.
We can’t avoid death, so as a community, let's begin to change the
conversation and the experiences around it.
Services Include: Mindful Grief Support, Compassionate Doulas, Death Doula Support, Reflection on Life and Death, End of Life Guidance, and Holding Vigils and Creating Ceremonies.
